Position Information
Under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator serves as an influential and highly productive generalist for the Student Affairs Organization.
The coordinator is responsible for a variety of human resources duties to include leave administration, recruitment support, candidate screening / engagement, data gathering and analysis, personnel file management, and onboarding and offboarding activities.
The incumbent gathers, distributes and analyzes human resources data in support of human resources initiatives throughout the organizations supported.
The HR Specialist collaborates and supports clients, and with all levels of faculty, staff, and students across campus to support the goals and priorities of the organization, ensuring proactive implementation of programs and services, all while maintaining confidentiality.
The full salary range for the Human Resources Specialist position is $28.26 to $49.52 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $28.
26 - $36.08 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and / or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time.
Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Strong skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, SharePoint) or similar database applications.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and knowledge of functional area.
Possesses ability to work collaborative in diverse group settings and with diverse populations.
Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively.
Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
Has working knowledge of other areas of HR.
Basic knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures.
Has working knowledge of other areas of HR.
Knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and / or other related business software programs and systems.
Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team oriented environment when needed.
