DEPARTMENT OVERVIEWUniversity of California Health (UCH) comprises six academic health centers, 20 health professional schools, a Global Health Institute and systemwide services that improve the health of patients and the University's students, faculty and employees. All of UC's hospitals are ranked among the best in California and its medical schools and health professional schools are nationally ranked in their respective areas.
POSITION SUMMARYThis is a key position within the UC Health division working directly with the Senior Advisor for Public Policy and Strategy and supporting Student Health and Counseling, Quality and Population Health, Cancer Consortium, and Virtual Care/Telehealth, and other high priority clinical healthcare issues. This position will use skills as an, experienced professional to oversee clinical and strategic healthcare projects/initiatives with a full understanding of functional practices, policies and procedures and resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative and practical ways. The incumbent will take initiative in making judgments about matters that cut across functional areas and often involve complex issues of University policy, practice, and governance, drawing on an in-depth knowledge of the functions and responsibilities of Clinical Strategy and Operations within UC Health.
This position oversees projects or assignments that may be sensitive and complex in nature and strives to ensure all activities are aligned with strategic priorities. The successful candidate must be highly organized, able to deal with ambiguity and time pressures and have knowledge of project management principles, practices, and project management systems.
Staff within Clinical Strategy and Operations are required to work as a team to maintain confidentiality and to perform their responsibilities with initiative, tact, diplomacy, experienced judgment, and professionalism.
Responsibilities30%
Drafts policy documents, presentations (PPT and other formats), talking points, and meeting minutes on behalf of the Chief Clinical Strategy Officer and Senior Advisor. Expedites workflow through the Chief Clinical Strategy department and proactively follows-up on assignments in a timely manner.

Works directly with the Senior Advisor to develop and implement efficient and effective systems for managing information, projects, and communications to ensure accurate and timely responses. Working with the Chief Clinical Officer and Senior Advisor to prioritize issues according to urgency and exercise sound judgment. This requires staying abreast of ongoing activities and projects in the Chief Clinical Strategy and Operations division.

Leads complex projects, requiring facilitation and collaboration with representation across functions / locations. Provides a full-suite of project and program management support and maintains an organized file system accessible to others in the organization.

Supports leadership to enact policy and administrative change and develops strategies for change management to remove barriers to goal achievement.

Provides analysis on a broad range of issues, including new program proposals in order to support and recommend strategic decision making.
Required Qualifications- Strong skills in short- and long-range planning, program and project management, facilitation and collaboration.
- Sound strategic thinking and consulting skills in guiding the department toward workable strategies and solutions.
- Strong ability to focus on priorities, strategies, and vision.
- Strong ability to coach, facilitate and influence people at all levels.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of staff and members of the community.
- Expertise with common administrative computer application programs (Word, PPT, Excel, etc) and experience developing presentations
- Advanced ability to develop crisp and concise communications for all levels of the organization, including UC Health's partners.
Preferred Qualifications- Thorough knowledge of University processes, protocols and procedures. Familiarity with working in a clinical healthcare setting.
Education- Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum 3 years' of experience and / or equivalent experience / training.
SALARY AND BENEFITSSalary:
$109,000 - $127,300 annually, commensurate with skills/experience.
