University of California - Los Angeles Health is Hiring a Financial Counselor (Part-Time) Near Los Angeles, CA

DescriptionAs a Financial Counselor, you will be responsible for:* Verifying accurate demographic and financial information* Reviewing and interpreting insurance benefits* Providing financial counseling and screening* Handling charity applications and credit assessments* Establishing all financial arrangements and refer appropriate cases to other agencies to assist patients with discharge/post hospital care.* Working closely with Patient Placement, Care Coordination, Social Services, and Patient Business Services to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.* Ability to write concise, grammatically correct reports and correspondence* Proficient in basic math* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and OutlookSalary range: $30.94-$44.42/Hourly
QualificationsWe're seeking an exceptional, self-directed professional with:* Understanding of third-party payer relationships as well as relevant state and federal health programs* Working knowledge of medical terminology* Ability to adapt to and implement changing registration procedures* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proper phone etiquette* Bilingual English/Spanish abilities, preferred * PC proficiency and basic math knowledge* Strong organizational skills* Independent decision-making skills and sound judgment* Flexibility in working varied schedules and at a variety of locations when necessaryNote: May be subject to test on qualifying skills
