This position leads the Staff HR office, supporting the goals and challenges of Haas by providing services that promote a positive and fair work environment that is characterized by excellence and innovation. We are seeking a HR Manager who has a record of demonstrated commitment to providing the highest level of responsive, confidential service possible, while serving as an expert resource, especially with regards to developing innovative approaches to finding the very best talent, supporting hiring managers by simplifying and streamlining hiring processes, and demonstrating a commitment to DEIB results.
This position is a member of the Haas Staff HR team and partners with Campus Regional Services and People and Culture to recruit and hire excellent candidates to support Haas' operational and strategic needs. Recruitment, classification, hiring, and compensation will be primary responsibilities of this position and the individual hired will also direct staff who support onboarding, orientation, employee relations, leave management, and other Human Resource functions.

Responsibilities
Reviews and makes recommendations about job classification or reclassification and salary adjustments. Serves as the internal lead to initiate and oversee staff recruitment and/or waivers of recruitment in partnership with campus. Reviews and conducts highly complex and varied analyses of issues or concepts, including an annual equity analysis and staffing analysis and provides recommendation, integrating information to recommend courses of action and possible implications. Supervises staff who support the Staff HR function, assuming excellent customer service to and partnership with Haas managers and employees, together supporting the achievement of ambitious HR goals. Analyzes sensitive and difficult workforce programs and applies advanced HR concepts to counsel senior managers on HR issues, employee and labor policies, procedures and appropriate practices including highly complex re-organizations and staffing objectives that help meet business objectives. Engages in continuous learning and improvement through professional development opportunities. Exhibits a commitment to DEIB through learning opportunities and through job performance.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in full-cycle recruitment, including attracting talented individuals to hard to fill positions through innovative processes. Demonstrated achievements as an effective partner to hiring managers in filling vacancies expeditiously. Extensive experience supervising HR staff, developing defined objectives for teams and individuals, and holding people accountable for performance, partnership, and collaborative customer service outcomes. Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills to perform analyses and develop recommendations. Experience working with human resources concepts, policies, and procedures, especially recruitment and classification, and including compensation, labor relations, salary administration, training, and other areas of human resources. Knowledge of human resources management systems and/or other related business software programs and systems. Advanced interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and demonstrated success in using them to present complex information. Demonstrated achievements in handling difficult situations/individuals effectively, including active listening, process improvement, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members.

Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
SHRM or IMPA-HR certifications. Master's Degree in Human Resources Management. Knowledge of UC Berkeley HR processes. Experience working in Higher Ed or in Business.
Salary & Benefits
This is a 100% time (40-hrs a week), monthly paid, exempt position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience up to $131,100.
