Departmental Overview
The California Social Welfare Education Center (CalSWEC) is a unit of the University of California at Berkeley's School of Social Welfare. As the nation's largest statewide consortium of social work educators and practitioners, CalSWEC collaborates with 22 universities, as well as county agencies across the state, to support social work education and training in the arenas of child welfare, behavioral health care, and services for aging and older adults.
CalSWEC's work focuses on the provision of professional social work education, student support, in-service training, and workforce development-related evaluation and research. CalSWEC's goal is to support effective, culturally competent delivery of public services to the people of California.
CalSWEC's partners and stakeholders in this work include the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), the California Office of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI), the County Welfare Directors Association (CWDA), the County Behavioral Health Directors Association (CBHDA), California's Regional Training Academies, the California Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, and other advocacy groups and foundations focused the workforce development needs of California's public systems of care. CalSWEC's pre-service and in-service training, program evaluation, and applied research projects are funded through state, federal, and private contracts and grants.
Under the supervision of CalSWEC's Integrated Behavioral Health Program Director, the Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Project Manager provides day to day project management for multiple grant and contract funded social work education and workforce development programs that emphasize public behavioral health care and the integration of primary care and behavioral health care services. The IBH Project Manager addresses a wide range of issues and needs related to the implementation and coordination of multi-site education and training projects, and works with over two dozen MSW programs to implement and coordinate those projects. The IBH Project manager supports the design, implementation and coordination of workforce development projects focused on the needs of students, faculty, employers, and behavioral health care consumers by assessing project needs and issues and developing appropriate work plans, problem-solving approaches, project materials, and technological support tools as needed.

Responsibilities
Coordinates project implementation with external entities through the management of logistics associated with implementing grant- and contract-funded training projects for MSW students at two dozen MSW programs around the state of California. Provides technical guidance and quality assessment by working with trainees and faculty during and after trainee program participation to record, track, and manage trainee, graduate, and program data in the Salesforce-based CalSWEC Student Information System. Identifies ongoing and new issues in the Salesforce CalSWEC Student Information System database and addressing them by resolving bugs and developing new procedures as needed. Establishes and maintains contacts with internal and external collaborators for the collection and exchange of data needed to meet project deliverables by disseminating and securing responses to pre- and post- training and graduate follow-up surveys and coordinating with both faculty at partner schools and CalSWEC fiscal and evaluation staff to compile information required for fiscal and program reports to funders. Develops and modifies survey tools to address emergent project needs related to training program implementation, process and outcome evaluation, and graduate follow up/assessments. Prepares directives, regulations, technical guidance, and other instructions for issuance to trainees, graduates and faculty at MSW programs participating in CalSWEC training programs, in the form of curricular guidelines, program applications, and student service agreements. Conducts post-implementation analysis to determine the need for further enhancements, finer distinctions and/or additional components for project deliverables, in order to help ensure that all trainees are able to successfully complete all training program requirements. Addresses issues related to the effective and complete implementation of training projects at partnering MSW programs through collaboration with staff and faculty at those programs Researches and drafts complex proposals, reports, briefings, and executive summaries in order to support the dissemination of program evaluation findings and the development of new projects and training curricula in response to new funding opportunities and changes in regional and statewide workforce development policy and planning. Performs ad hoc, analytical studies on complex policies, programs and issues in support the assessment of trainee and graduate outcomes and training effectiveness in relation to identified project goals.
Required Qualifications
Strong organizational skills, sufficient to simultaneously coordinate multiple multi-site training projects. Strong time management skills, sufficient to meet a variety of deadlines related to program implementation, evaluation, and reporting on time. Proficiency with the use of Salesforce for independent data management, report generation, and development of new variables and reports as needed. General familiarity with the field of social work and its intersections with social service delivery and public health, and with social work training in public social service, private nonprofit, and/or health care settings. Familiarity with the principles and practices of adult education and professional workforce development. Strong analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and strong presentation skills. Commitment to working effectively in a culturally diverse and culturally responsive environment. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google Suite tools, and Qualtrics. Bachelor's degree in Social Work/Social Welfare, Public Health, or a related field and relevant experience and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing culturally responsive education and/or training projects in higher education settings. Experience designing and executing outcome evaluations of education and/or training projects. Experience successfully supervising the work of students and support staff. Master's degree in Social Work/Social Welfare, Public Health, or a related field.
Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) contract appointment, eligible for full UC health and retirement benefits. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the expectation of annual renewal based on continued external funding for relevant CalSWEC projects. This is a monthly paid, exempt position.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $85,000.00 - $90,000.00.
