The Coordinator for Employer & Community Relations supports the CIC’s mission of creating expert career managers and facilitating synergy with the employment community by providing direct services to students participating in the Federally funded Job Location and Development (JLD) program. This position oversees the CIC’s JLD program in collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid by providing placement assistance to UBalt students. The position also works collaboratively with the entire CIC team to support programming focused on employability skills. Lastly, duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with employer services, recruitment programming and outreach, facilitating career development workshops and classroom presentations, coordinating with career fairs, and providing career coaching to students looking for employment.

Key Responsibilities
Job Development: Responsible for Job Location and Development including developing and maintaining effective relationships with local employers to increase recruitment of college's students. Determines the hiring needs of employers and promotes the college's work-study students and majors from CAS, CPA and MSB to employers via cold calls, email campaigns, and off-site employer visits. Maintains, updates, and expands electronic employer database. Oversees the posting of full and part-time positions in electronic employer database.
Case-Management: Conducts outreach and provides case-management support to students seeking off-campus internships. Collects applications for off-campus work-study and provides job referrals to currently enrolled students. Acts as a liaison between employers and students participating in the JLD program. Serves on the college's Student Employment Taskforce. Provides employability skills building and job readiness coaching to students. Develops presentations and outreach opportunities to promote positions to students.
Student Oversight: Serves as the on-campus supervisor for JLD students placed in off-campus positions. Oversees the MOU process, contracts, and timesheets for JLD placements. Provides an orientation for employers and incorporates 1-on-1 coaching and student learning outcomes into the student work experience. Liaises with the Office of Human Resources on contract issues and Payroll for timesheet concerns to ensure that students are compensated.
Recruitment Support: Assists with cultivating and maintaining relationships with the employment community to support strategic Employer Relations outreach including the Job Location and Development program; Coordinates recruitment events including job fairs and networking events; Performs concierge services to employers seeking to gain visibility at UBalt; Utilizes career management system (CMS) to approve and input job announcements, and send out messages to students.
JLD Program Compliance: Ensures the Universities’ compliance with the Department of Education concerning the JLD program. Keeps track of JLD activity including postings, placements, and hours worked. Generates reports on program outcomes and utilization for departmental, institutional and federal reporting.
Required Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Communications, Business or related field. Familiarity with designing learning outcomes and evaluations.
Experience: 1 year of customer service experience in higher education, business, retail, or general administrative support. Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

The ideal candidate should possess stellar customer service skills and administrative ability. The employee should demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in team environment and to successfully partner with external constituents. The ideal candidate will possess superb oral and written communication skills, exceptional customer service skills, and possess strong organizational skills (attention to detail). The ability work in a fast-paced environment maintaining a friendly, customer-focused attitude. Ability to develop creative outreach and marketing solutions to engage constituents.
