https://success.uark.edu/Summary of Job Duties:Writing Studio Consultants in the Student Success Center support student learning by helping undergraduate and graduate students strengthen their academic writing skills. Conducting interactive, one-on-one sessions, consultants provide feedback to writers on every aspect of the writing process across various academic disciplines. This position requires excellent communication skills and the desire to help students succeed. Consultants must work a minimum of five hours per week.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion ofat leasttwelve credit hours at the University of Arkansas,Fayettevilleoracceptanceinto graduate school

  • CumulativeminimumGPA of 3.25

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5

  • At least one semester of experience working in a writing center or related academic supportprogram

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of academic writing and citation systems

  • Knowledge of basic word processing software and email systems

  • Skilled in interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  • Skilled in conducting online meetings or consultations

  • Ability to maintainconfidentiality

  • Ability to work effectively with limitedsupervision

  • Ability to adapt to changing situations andtroubleshootappointment issueswhen necessary

Salary Information:

$13.00 per hour for undergraduate consultants
$17.00 per hour for graduate consultants
