Summary of Job Duties:Administrative Specialist III in the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB)'s School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences' Lonoke Farm, located in Lonoke, Arkansas. This position is available at UAPB's Small Farm, Outreach, Wetland and Water Management Center at Lonoke, Arkansas, i.e. UAPB's Lonoke Farm. The Administrative Specialist III works under the general supervision of the Resident Director. Duties include serving as the receptionist and perform general clerical duties that include, but not limited to processing paperwork (letters, monthly reports, manuscripts, requisitions, memos, time sheets, campus leave forms, filing, ordering farm and office supplies), operating and requesting repairs for office machines and farm equipment, occasional pick-up and deliver mail to and from UAPB's main campus in Pine Bluff, AR, serve as key operator for copy and fax machine, coordinate Extension and Research activities, occasionally assist in some farm activities such as watering plants in the greenhouses, high tunnels and in the fields, and other duties assigned by the supervisor. The successful candidate will be expected to be responsible, self-driven, and open to adapt to program changes. This position is governed by state and federal laws.Qualifications:

Formal education equivalent to a high school diploma, plus one year's clerical experience; must be able to operate general office equipment. Applicant must have skills in the use of computer software packages including database and spreadsheet software, such as Excel and Access; word processing skills and be able to use MS Word, must be able to exercise good judgment in supervisor's absence; exercise courtesy and use tact when dealing with the public; and must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional staff and associates.
