As our Student Services Manager, you will act as an ambassador of UAF, working with NWC staff and university partners to support and guide current and incoming university students from the Bering Strait region.
To thrive in this role, candidates should demonstrate effective communication skills in working with various populations and strong skills in organization and advising.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years progressively responsible relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Northwest campus in Nome AK. This is a full-time, 11 month, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.

The university system started as the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines in Fairbanks, later renamed the University of Alaska. That first year, the campus was a single two-story frame building and had just six students. The school was renamed the University of Alaska in 1935. In 1954, Anchorage Community College (now known as the University of Alaska Anchorage) was incorporated into the University of Alaska. That next year, Juneau Community College was established and was later named the University of Alaska Southeast. System-wide, nearly 33,000 full- and part-time students are enrolled, studying among 500 unique degree, certificate or endorsement programs.
