ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR-STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Student Health Services is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Director for Student Health Services. Working closely with the Medical Director, this position provides leadership for strategic planning and operational, and financial activities of Student Health Services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• To manage and oversee the daily administrative operations of Student Health Services that do not include direct patient care
• Supervises front-office employees, including the Administrative Supervisor position, and oversees quality control, performance issues, staffing, and other matters associated with non-clinical operations of SHS, in collaboration with the Medical Director Maintains a thorough working knowledge of and provides support for budget tracking, processing, revenue cycle and facility security in collaboration with relevant assigned staff responsible for these areas
• Works collaboratively with the Medical Director and other appropriate staff in the development of the annual budgets and provides advice regarding cost analysis as needed
• Collaborates with campus partners and Student Health Insurance Agency to ensure that regulatory requirements are met and that Student Health Insurance requirement is enforced
• Serves as contractual point of contact with carrier for planning purposes and to resolve any issues that may arise
• Facilitates planning and implementation of strategic initiatives for clinic operations, assists in developing clinic policies and procedures, and oversees and ensures compliance with UAB, state, and federal policies, procedures, and related regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA
• Develops strategic plans and policies to assist in the accreditation process
• Serve as human resources point of contact and work collaboratively with divisional HR representatives on onboarding and problem resolutions, including recruiting, hiring, termination, performance evaluation, staff development, and training
• Works closely with the Medical Director and University Counsel to ensure that regulatory requirements (HIPAA, FERPA, insurance, and billing compliance) are met at all times
• Working closely with the Medical Director may act as a representative for the department in designated administrative matters including, but not limited to, university committees and other liaison roles (UAB Legal, Compliance, Credentialing, Accounting, Contracts, etc.)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $70,425-$90,000

Bachelor's degree in a related field and seven (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
