This role manages and facilitates the distribution, management, and documentation of the institution’s financial resources. It is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely accounting and reporting of general ledger activity including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements. Additionally, Assistant Controller performs other research and projects including determination of effectiveness and efficiency of existing reports and developing and implementing strategies for improving reports.

General Duties:

• Daily Cash Entries and Bank Reconciliations
• Complete month end close and all related journal entries
• Review accounts payable batches and other related documents
• Balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis
• Maintenance of Fixed Assets schedules
• Preparation of Sales/Use tax returns and other regulatory documents
• Support Accounts Payable and Bursar functions as needed
• Petty cash maintenance and follow up
• Assist Sr. Controller with financial audits and annual tax preparation

Skills/ Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree is Required
• Minimum of 5 years of general ledger and month end close or related experience is required
• Must be proficient in Excel
• Experience with Great Plains is preferred but not required

Location Requirements: This is not a remote position; candidate must be willing and able to work in- person on our Tempe campus

Salary and summary of Employment Benefits: $70,000-$85,000/year, dependent upon education and experience
