The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of PT Event Captain within the department of Event Management. The UEE division leads the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
Under the supervision of the Director of Event Services & the Sr. Event Specialist, the Events Captain is responsible for overseeing the set up, execution, and tear down of events taking place within the Campus Crossroads venues. The Events Captain will be responsible for ensuring room set up is done correctly prior to vendors arriving for event set up. During event set up the Events Captain will ensure all vendors arrive at their expected time and set up is done according timeline. They will touch base with the client prior to the event start time to ensure all customer expectations are met. During the event they will troubleshoot A/V when needed and provide assistance with any repairs needed. The ability to problem solve, and rectify a situation quickly are essential to this position. The Events Captain will deliver the highest level of customer service for event clients, campus partners and university vendors to maintain a positive and professional working relationship.

This position is with University Enterprises and Events at the University of Notre Dame and is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus (1/2 paid after 90 and 180 days of continuous employment). Candidates are only eligible if they are a new employee to the University - current Notre Dame employees who transfer are not eligible. Other rules and conditions apply.
Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 to 2 years of related work experience
• Experience in Service Industry and experience providing event support
• Experience providing event support
• Must have attention to detail, commitment to customer satisfaction, strong communication skills, and an appreciation of ND mission
