University Medical Partners (UMP), a partner of Stanford Medicine, is seeking a full-time Finance & Clinician Compensation Analyst to be located in our Newark, CA Corporate Office.

ABOUT UMP: University Medical Partners, Inc. (UMP) was formed in January 2017 by physicians practicing within a variety of medical groups located in the Bay Area which aligned to create a unified multi-specialty physician practice and clinical network to serve as an exemplar for the delivery of high-quality health services in the Bay Area. UMP Practitioners deliver care at clinics operated by Stanford Medical Partners (SMP), a medical foundation affiliated with Stanford University throughout the Bay Area.

POSITION TITLE: Finance & Clinician Compensation Analyst

REPORTS TO: Finance Manager and Manager, Finance and Clinician Compensation

SALARY RANGE: $75,000-95,000 annually DOE

PURPOSE STATEMENT: As a member of the UMP Management Services Team, the Finance & Clinician Compensation Analyst will collect, interpret, and analyze data to inform key business decisions for UMP, support key financial and clinician compensation administration functions, and complete ad-hoc projects as determined by senior leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential duties of this position include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Perform a broad range of funding and clinician compensation functions including, report creation, data extracts and analysis tasks.
  • Support funding processes including monthly expense/outside income reimbursement and quarterly funding reconciliations.
  • Support the clinician compensation administration processes including notice development, complex compensation analytics and monthly clinician productivity reporting.
  • Support special projects and analytical needs as assigned by senior leadership.
  • Support essential finance functions such as accounts payable and business license renewal.
  • Follow-up with foundation and medical group partners on joint projects and deliverables.
  • Prepare, analyze data sets, and develop data models to inform key business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for new data collection and improved analysis processes.
  • Generate reports from single or multiple systems.
  • Maintain an up-to date process document/guidebook on assigned functions/services.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Health Care Administration, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two (2) years of work experience as a financial analyst or compensation analyst.
  • Strong Excel skills including experience with advanced formulas, managing large data sets, and development of robust Excel-based models.
  • Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills with a strong capacity for detail.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet required deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure process improvement and projects are completed successfully.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order develop and maintain collaborative relationships with management and physicians.
  • Proven ability to work independently to produce accurate work of the highest quality.
  • Manages relationships relevant to projects and requires the ability to gain cooperation of others.
  • Budgeting, accounting, AP/AP, and financial reporting experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of physician practice and/or medical group experience desirable, but not required.
  • Experience with physician employment contracting/compensation modeling desirable, but not required.
  • Proficiency in MS Access is desirable, but not required.
