The University Co-op is an independent bookstore and the largest Longhorn retailer; but we’re more than just a store. As a nonprofit, 100% of the profits from our retail business have benefited the students, faculty and staff at the University of Texas at Austin through funding, sponsorships, academic awards, internship programs, and membership discount. Our mission is to improve the lives of the students, faculty and staff at the University of Texas at Austin with a business where people love to shop, work, and connect. Job Summary

The University Co-op, in conjunction with the Textiles and Apparel program, offers a semester-long internship program to degree-seeking students interested in gaining real-life experience and mentorship.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Demonstrate great customer service in daily interactions with external and internal customers.
• Act with integrity and trust, and exemplify the Co-op core values. Authentic, Welcoming, Supportive, Achiever
• Engage with ongoing support via TXA
• Be an active learner
• Learn the general functions of the Co-op such as selling on the floor
• Identify potential projects that would enhance your learning experience
• Complete other duties as required or requested based on provided duty guidelines and timelines.
• Qualifications and Skills

Qualified candidates for the internship program must be a degree-seeking student at The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, the candidate must have already completed 24 to 60 in-residence hours and must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher.

Ability to interact, communicate, and be professional is a must.

Availability during book rush and home football games is required. Occasional travel within Texas off campus may be required.
