UNIVERSITY CARE CENTER is Hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing Near Edwardsville, IL

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team. As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of nursing operations within our organization alongside the Director of Nursing. This is a leadership role that requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitors the use of plan of correction audit tools used for the nursing department to ensure compliance.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance meetings, Care Plan meetings, and Psychotropic med & reduction meetings. Works with Dietary to obtain weights for weekly NARS meeting.
  • Manages CNA worksheets
  • Creates and manages work schedule for nurses and CNAs; maintains appropriate staffing levels
  • Hires qualified staff to fill vacancies in nursing department.
  • Purchases medical supplies and maintains appropriate levels on hand.
  • prior authorizations.
  • Assumes On-Call responsibilities as needed; fills in for line staff positions as needed
  • Makes recommendations for procedural changes nursing department changes as needed
  • Assists the floor nurse with the admission process
  • Coordinates implementation of methods and procedures to ensure achievement of objectives.
  • Consults with Administrator, DON, Medical Director, department heads, and others to coordinate nursing activities with other facility activities.
  • Confers with managers and staff concerning problems of patient care.
  • Ensures new employees receive proper floor orientation.
  • Makes regular periodic rounds of Resident care units with the Medical Director.
  • Maintains appropriate communication with Regional Clinical Care Coordinator.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A./A.S./A.A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Three to five years long term care experience preferred

Certificates and Licenses:

Current Nurse License in good standing in state of facility location.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages employees in the Nursing Department; Has supervisory oversight of charge nurses, floor nurses, QMAs and CNAs.

Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Experience in various healthcare settings such as assisted living, home health, acute care, hospice care, and nursing homes
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems and reimbursement processes, including Medicare
- Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team building and staff development
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems

Note: All positions must be paid including internship positions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
