The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University at Albany, SUNY, invites applications for an Administrative Manager (Senior Staff Assistant) position. The Administrative Manager is responsible for all administrative support and services for the Department and its degree programs. The Administrative Manager reports directly to the Department Chair, supervises all support personnel in the Department, works closely with faculty, staff, and students, and serves as the Department's liaison with all administrative offices on campus. Responsibilities include academic affairs support, fiscal management, facilities management, and personnel management.


Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • At least two years of professional experience in an administrative capacity
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in higher education with faculty and students
  • Experience with university software, such as PeopleTools, Business Intelligence, Slate, etc.
