VAR ASSISTANT MELTER

Primary function

Assist VAR department melter to ensure the smooth operation of the melting process through effective coordination of support tasks.

Basic Responsibilities

• Insure adequate supply of equipment.
• Provide effective staging of product.
• Provide efficient use of consumables and recyclables.
• Maintain proper documentation
• Insure that floor practices and procedures are properly performed.
• Take corrective action or report equipment or material abnormalities.
• Perform lower level duties related to VAR activities when necessary.

Must be able to weld and operate remote overhead crane.
