Universal Health Services Inc. is Hiring a HOUSEKEEPER Near Madera, CA

Responsibilities

River Vista Behavioral Health sits along the bluffs overlooking the San Joaquin River, this brand new, 128-bed facility, will provide high-quality and advanced behavioral health services to residents and visitors in the Central Valley. The new hospital will employ more than 250 people, including clinicians, nurses, mental health technicians, support staff and administration.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and hardworking HOUSEKEEPERS to be part of our Environmental Services Team. The Housekeeper is responsible for daily housekeeping routines such as cleaning patient rooms, offices, and public areas, while ensuring a safe and risk preventive environment within OSHA and Infection Control regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years' experience in housekeeping duties, preferably in a health care facility.

Additional Requirements: Must be able to work with minimal supervision. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform routine cleaning tasks of patients rooms, offices and public areas as assigned by supervisor (dusting/vacumming/mop/sweep/disenfectants/refill supplies/ensure adequate linens)
  2. Keep cleaning supplies and equipment safely stored when not in use and away from patient access when in use.
  3. Assist Housekeeping Supervisor and Manager as needed.
  4. Report any situations that may affect the health and well-being of patients or employees.
  5. Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventive environment.
  6. Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations and Safety/Risk Management plans, policies and procedures.
  7. Use time constructively and in an organized manner to accomplish assigned responsibilities.
  8. Address patients, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner.
  9. Assist in any emergencies that may arise.
  10. Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures..
  11. Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.
  12. Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  1. Knowledge of basic housekeeping duties.
  2. Knowledge of all code procedures.
  3. Knowledge of risk and safety precautions.
  4. Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
  5. Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures.
  6. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to recommend/take corrective courses of action that would improve the functioning of the department's systems.
  8. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers; ability to read and speak English.
  9. Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  10. Ability to use good judgement and to maintain confidentiality of information.
  11. Ability to work as a team player.
  12. Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication.
  13. Ability to accept direction and adhere to policies and procedures.
  14. Ability to recognize the importance of adapting to the various patient age groups (adolescent, adult and geriatric).
  15. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  16. Ability to meet corporate deadlines.
  17. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND SPECIAL DEMANDS

  1. Ability to work a 40-hour work week.

  4. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, balance, push, pull, and twist.
  5. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds may be required without assistance.
  6. Ability to work under any weather conditions inside or out without regard for temperature, anytime of the day or night.
  7. Ability to read, write and follow simple instructions.
  8. Ability to use hands in the performance of cleaning duties and the use of cleaning equipment.
  9. Ability to handle a variety of repetitive tasks.
  10. Ability to exert up to 80 pounds of force to move objects.
  11. Ability to respond to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND OTHER WORK AIDES:

THIS SECTION DESCRIBES THOSE MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND OTHER WORK AIDES AN EMPLOYEE IN THIS POSITION MUST BE ABLE TO USE.

  1. Vacuums, byffers, extractors, dispensers, and other related equipment.
  2. Telephone and paging system.
  3. Cleaning agents.
  4. Cleaning carts.
  5. Policies, procedures, plans and program manuals.

Additional Requirements:

A strong knowledge of The Joint Commission, HCFA, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
