We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our credit union as a Collections Agent. As a Collections Agent, your primary responsibility will be to contact members who have outstanding loan payments or delinquent accounts and work with them to establish repayment plans. Your objective will be to help our credit union recover assets while maintaining positive member relationships and minimizing financial losses.

Essential Job Functions and Accountability

• Collects on consumer loans that are 61 days delinquent, including charge-off loans and negative shares. Accurately gathers facts and notates all collection and communication efforts.
• Performs all activities related to collecting amounts due on delinquent loans and negative shares in compliance with department work standards, Client policies, procedures, federal and state laws.
• Educates members on all options available by offering suggestions on how to meet financial obligations and determine a plan of resolution for full cure.
• Resolve delinquent loan status by performing standard due diligence practices, analyzing member situation, negotiating, and securing acceptable repayment arrangements.
• Follows-up and monitors delinquent loans/shares to ensure promised arrangements are kept.
• Meets and/or exceeds monthly collection audits, performance measures and goals.
• Participates in team meetings and activities and encourages a positive workplace environment.
• Works as part of a highly productive team to achieve departmental service levels and performance expectations.

This role operates in an office environment, typically during regular business hours. The position may require occasional flexibility to work evenings or weekends to accommodate members' availability. The Collections Agent may need to manage stressful situations with tact, patience, and professionalism when dealing with difficult or irate members.
