Universal Companies is Hiring a Sales Manager – Schools Near Abingdon, VA

Department:Sales | Wellness and Beauty Schools Business Unit

Reports to:Sr. Sales Director, Schools

SUMMARY:

The position supports Corporate Sales in a specific geographic region and/or serving assigned customers, with responsibility for driving sales growth. The Sales Manager is responsible for lead generation, qualification, negotiation and closing sales. Other responsibilities will include frequent communication with customers, learning and retaining details of product, brands, equipment and services provided by Universal Companies. Specific to this role is and understanding of school curriculum development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Identify and cultivate quality leads and nurture them from new and existing customers
  • Directly and frequently communicate with customers via phone, email, text, or in-person
  • Create and onboard customer quotes based on needs as well as upsells
  • Process customer orders via defined channels
  • Ability to drive sales success to achieve personal and business unit stretch goal
  • Actively participates in on-going training/education to learn/retain product and brand information
  • Required to assist new and existing customers with selection of product and/or equipment in a professional and knowledgeable manner
  • Completes customer service interactions to addresses and resolve minor issues while referring more complex issues to the BU Director.
  • Maintains existing customer database with accurate and up-to-date information
  • Troubleshooting account issues
  • Willingness to travel to key accounts or territory development needs
  • Take part in planning/attending industry tradeshows

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced fun environment
  • Technical ability with digital sales tools
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and prioritize activities, multi-task, and follow tasks to completion
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • Aptitude and excitement to learn
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Willingness to engage in up to 60% travel, including attending accounts and tradeshows (with the ability to travel by air).
  • Capability to lift boxes weighing 30 lbs. for tradeshow setup.
  • Availability to work weekends as necessary, particularly during tradeshows.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Corporate branded products sales
  • Proficient in using Salesforce.
  • Understanding of salon, wellness, beauty industry
  • Previous experience in regional B2B sales.
  • Licensed Industry Professional required, Esthetician, Massage Therapist, etc.
  • Experience in sales within vocational schools or post-secondary education institutions.
  • Accustomed to participating in tradeshow environments, customer meetings, and training sessions.
