SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Incumbent has the responsibility of maintaining accurate accounting files both physically and electronically. Other responsibilities include: providing assistance to both AR and AP departments where needed, as well as assisting other department employees in special projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Entering Receipts for Lockbox, ACH & Wires that are on the bank for the previous day.

• Downloading all receipt upload files and uploading them to the Enterprise Resource Planner.

• Deposit daily checks through mailing to the lockbox or using an internal check scanner.

• Process customer payments via credit card/EFTs/other websites.

• Support Sales function with customer account issues.

• Verify orders are entered with correct payment instruments/terms and release orders when necessary.

• Maintain tax exemption certificates and update customers in the system for exemption status.

• Respond to customer correspondence and direct questions to the appropriate employees as needed.

• Process customer refunds.

• Contact past due customers and take payment.

• Run statements monthly - sort and mail to customers.

• Provide backup and support for both AR and AP functions as needed.

• General knowledge of accounting practices and procedures related to the day-to-day operations of the company.

• Acute attention to detail required.

• Ability to process all transactions accurately and timely.

• Must possess excellent analytical and communication skills.

• Must possess outstanding customer relationship attributes.

• Must have an understanding of the complete organizational structure of Universal Companies.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma and prior work in an accounting environment preferred.

• Experience using MS Office applications.

• Experience with JD Edwards a plus.

• Experience with Salesforce a plus.
