Universal Community Health Center is Hiring a Facilities Coordinator (MAINTENANCE) Near Los Angeles, CA

Description

Job Summary

The Facility Coordinator will be a reliable, skilled maintenance worker to perform essential upkeep tasks throughout our facility. In this position, you will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as repairs and cleaning to ensure that our facilities are both tidy and functional. Being reliable and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail is essential in this job, as the ideal candidate will have significant work experience and solid technical knowledge. Have the manual dexterity and physical stamina necessary for this work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform minor fixes, such as repairing broken locks, damage to walls, etc.
  • Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed
  • Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
  • Maintain grounds, including garden and yard upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc.
  • Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
  • Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs
  • Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems
  • Test the functionality of the facility’s safety systems
  • Collaborate with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and facility expansions
  • Report to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress
  • Assist management with implementing and managing structural changes within the organization
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

ENVIRONMENT

The environment for this position is medical clinic that is clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. In addition, the incumbent may travel via personal vehicle or public transportation throughout the community.

QUALIFICATIONS/ POSITION REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this job. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar role
  • At least 3 years of healthcare experience.
  • Collaboration skills and teamwork are critical, with flexibility and a positive disposition.
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail
  • Solution oriented with ability to respond quickly and efficiently to any day to day issues that arise
  • Demonstrates knowledge of basic project management practices
  • Commitment to providing exceptional Customer Service
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi task on various projects
  • Experience with, knowledge of, multi-ethnic and underserved communities.
  • Good oral/written communication, interpersonal
  • A demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in mathematics and analytical comprehension
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access

Requirements

 

EDUCATION:

High School diploma. Some college or equivalent coursework in facilities, business, operations, or project management (Bachelor’s Preferred)

Physical Demands

  • In the course of performing this work, the incumbent:
  • Will spend substantial time standing, sitting, speaking and listening
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • May travel via personal vehicle or public transportation to other facilities throughout Los Angeles

Community Care Licensing through the State of California Department of Justice Caregiver

Background Check Bureau. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in

writing, and/or possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
