Job Description

Dover Street Market Los Angeles is seeking a hands-on Facilities and Installation Coordinator to be fully responsible for executing and helping manage store improvement, minor construction projects, maintenance/upkeep, and repairs to maintain and improve our store customer and employee experience. This position will work closely with the Visual Merchandising and Special Projects team to provide facility maintenance and installation support as needed. This position includes overseeing installation build outs, design drawings and presentations as needed plus assistance with planning and execution of events.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Special Projects – Installation and Event Support:

  • Direct assistance with fabrication of displays and installations.
  • Supervision of third-party contractors during installations.
  • Flexible schedule being on site during all events and installations.
  • Assist with sourcing props for temporary and permanent use.
  • Assist with event design and organization as needed.
  • Manage and update long term storage fixture inventory.

Facilities

  • Ensure the LA store and office remains organized, clean, and safe.
  • Serves in an “on call” capacity in case of after hour emergencies.
  • Conducts physical inspections of the facility, grounds, and premises.
  • Executes maintenance, both corrective and preventative.
  • Maintain all facilities contracts and maintenance schedules including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, cleaning, pest control.
  • Maintain the highest safety standards in compliance with local laws, OSHA, and best practices across the company.
  • Ensure fire alarm system is in accordance with Fire Department Code and OSHA.
  • Monitor cleaning staff to ensure proper cleanliness and upkeep is met daily.
  • Ensure Bay Alarm security system is functioning without interruption and schedule maintenance whenever necessary.
  • Work closely with Loss Prevention to ensure security needs are met and to arrange for coverage on an as needed basis.
  • Assist with additional onsite tasks as needed.

Key Objectives:

  • Ensure all maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and security are in accordance with Dover Street Market Los Angeles Standards.
  • Assist and support the Visual and Special Projects team with the fabrication and execution of store installations and event production.
  • Remain within budgets and be resourceful when necessary unexpected repairs or services occur.
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure all systems are functioning without disruption.

Key Deliverables:

  • Ensure store and office maintenance always meet company standards.
  • Maintain a hands-on and structured working environment.
  • Ensure all OSHA requirements are achieved and maintained.
  • Well planned and timely execution of all special projects and events from setup to breakdown.
  • Oversee and assist with all installations and events while in progress.

Skills:

  • Previous experience in facility maintenance required.
  • Is technically skilled in multiple fields including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Knowledge of SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Ability to oversee contractors to ensure repairs and maintenance tasks are executed correctly.
  • Must possess excellent project management skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
