UnitedService Companies is Hiring a Night Auditor - SpringHill Suites Chinatown (Part-time) Near Chicago, IL

Position Purpose
The Night Auditor is responsible for auditing, posting and balancing the daily financial transactions, and providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests during check-in and checkout and throughout their stay to support the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities; other duties may be assigned as required.
Audit, post and balance daily cashiers work for outlets including, but not limited to, Rooms and Food & Beverage.
Ensure credit card system reconciles to daily transaction lists.
Prepare daily revenue report data by auditing Point of Sale tapes/journals to breakdown revenue, covers, waiters' fees, tips paid out and settlements by type and cashier.
Input into the front office system revenue/expenses/allowances to generate the daily reports such as the Guest Ledger Summary and the Daily Restaurant Summary.
Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files and reset the system for next day operations.
Greet, check-in and checkout guests approaching the Front Desk in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner and in accordance with company, hotel and brand standards.
Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, restaurants, transportation, entertainment and hours of operation in a timely manner.
Resolves guest challenges and takes appropriate action to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.
Build rapport with rewards members, distinguished visitors; escort guests to rooms, make welfare calls, encourage feedback throughout their stay.
Make room reservations keeping in mind rates, packages, special promotions, and closed out/restricted dates as listed.
Identify, solicit and sign up potential reward members (if applicable).
Maintain and market promotions and guest programs.
Obtain all necessary information when taking room reservations and follow the rate-quoting scenario.
Follow all cash handling and credit policies.
Always Use proper two-way radio and phone etiquette when communicating with other employees.
Fully comprehend and be able to operate all relevant aspects of the Front Desk computer system.
Complete all tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner.
Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shift according to hotel standards.
Maintain a clean work area.
Fill in and support coworkers and team as needed to ensure efficient operation.
Have knowledge of emergency procedures and assist when needed.
Perform duties, special assignments and projects as requested by management.
Minimum Required Technical Skills and Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications suite.
Excellent people skills and possesses a positive, outgoing, and naturally curious personality.
Ability to work productively with other employees as part of a team.
Demonstrate a high-level of proficiency with computers.
Ability to be a clear thinker in pressure situations and exercise good judgment. Remain calm and courteous in demanding and difficult customer situations.
Ability to handle obstacles in a positive and professional manner and to effectively communicate these problems, along with suggested solutions.
Ability to work a flexible workweek including nights, weekends and holidays.
Education/Certifications/Licensure/Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous hotel front desk experience.
Previous guest relations/ night audit experience.
Experience in hospitality industry in similar position, preferred.
Language Skills
Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English Language.

Ability to continuously stand for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
Standing and walking is continuous for 4-5 hours at a time.
Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and ascending and descending stairs are repetitive movements.
