United Way of Greater Nashville is Hiring a SNAP Employment & Training Coordinator Near Nashville, TN

Position Summary: The SNAP Employment and Training Coordinator contributes to the efforts of United Way of Greater Nashville (UWGN) by continuing to develop and strengthen the SNAP Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) program throughout Tennessee. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the SNAP E&T program has the capabilities to support subcontractors in Tennessee, assist with expanding the program, monitor federal mandated case management database, and ensure financial reporting is accurate according to federal and state requirements.

Coordinator:

  • Maintain a process for tracking and monitoring the participation of SNAP E&T participants in the Jobs4TN case management system.
  • Assist in training newly established subcontractors on how to use the Jobs4TN case management system.
  • Stay current on SNAP E&T program modifications to ensure subcontractors maintain the integrity of programming.
  • Maintain professional communication with subcontractors, Department of Labor, and Department of Human Services.
  • Work independently and cross-functionally with Regional Managers.
  • Collaborates with Regional Managers with organizing and preparing SNAP E&T Interest Meetings with potential subcontractors, subcontractors, the Department of Human Services, and the Department of Labor.
  • Adheres to all guidance and regulations for SNAP E&T grant and ensures subcontractors are successfully implementing grant requirements and there is compliance with all terms and conditions.
  • Conducts monthly invoice review of all participant related expenses.
  • Collaborates with Regional Manager with SNAP E&T orientation to newly onboarded subcontractors.
  • Collaborates closely with Associate Director and Regional Managers to ensure compliance and successful implementation of SNAP E&T services Statewide.
  • Provide technical assistance to subcontractors on an ongoing basis and/or as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or HISET equivalent
  • Experience:
    • Case management (SNAP E&T preferred)
    • Working with and engaging nonprofit organizations
    • Grant implementation
  • Skills:
    • Written, oral, and technological communication.
    • Ability to relate to people of varied economic, racial, ethnic & religious backgrounds.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Miscellaneous:
  • A valid driver’s license & proof of insurance

Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • May require the employee to work externally in the community. This may require providing technical assistance to subcontractors throughout Middle Tennessee. This will require the employee to be able to drive to different locations.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, and balance.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perform repetitive hand/wrist motions.
  • Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
