Position Title: Elementary Custodian I or II
Department: Theodore Jamerson Elementary School
Salary: $14.00 -$18.92 (DOE)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a high school Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid ND Drivers License and be insurable under UTTCs insurance carrier
• Two (2) years of custodial work experience recommended.

Summary of Duties:

• Sweep and/or vacuum floors, mop daily.
• Scrub and disinfect lavatories daily.
• Check and replenish soap, towel, and drinking water dispensers daily.
• Empty trash and garbage containers daily.
• Clean glass doors daily.
• Scrub and disinfect classroom desks/chairs daily.
• Report-Repair minor projects which need repairing complete cleaning/maintenance logs weekly/quarterly/annually. Report all upkeep and repair needs for work orders.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies in advance.
• Lifting and moving furniture and supplies to/for TJES classrooms.
• Shovel Snow as needed, Mow TJES grounds as needed.
• Possible on campus driving (non-CDL required vehicle)
• Address safety issues to Principal or Facilities Management.
• Dust furniture weekly.
• Coordinate Summer Projects with Principal
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• Monday to Friday from 8 am – 5 pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
• Shift work may take place on a schedule outside the normal working hours of 8:00-5:00
• Shifts may be early morning, late morning, or evening.
• Additional hours may be required.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Must be able to climb stairs.
• Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Frequently makes decisions of average difficulty regarding maintenance of school buildings and grounds.
• Must be reliable.
