The Office of Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) seeks a Foreign Policy Legislative Assistant to work on national security and foreign policy issues. Duties include assisting the National Security Advisor on Armed Services Committee work, drafting memos, reviewing correspondence, meeting with constituents and other duties as assigned. Applicant should bring solid written and oral communication skills, a willingness to learn and grow, and a strong work ethic. Demonstrated knowledge of and keen interest in global security and foreign affairs policy highly desired. Ideal candidate will have a substantial understanding of national security policy, knowledge of how to advance legislative priorities through Congress, and 3 to 5 years of prior Senate, agency or industry experience.
