The USCCB/MRS Preferred Communities (PC) team works with a network of affiliate local service providers to assist with the successful resettlement and integration of especially vulnerable refugees, asylees, Special Immigrant Visa holders, Afghan and Ukrainian humanitarian parolees, victims of trafficking, Cuban and Haitian Entrants, and Amerasians. In coordination with the PC team, the PC Data Specialist will assist with maintaining quality program data, support quality assurance activities, and provide administrative support for the Preferred Communities Program, including PC budgeted sites, Vulnerable Care Services providers, and, as assigned, agencies administering the PC Intake and Referral for Ukrainians program.
PC Data Specialist contributes to the Bishops strategic plan for the Conference and demonstrates willingness and ability to understand, respect and contribute to the USCCB mission and to fulfill job duties in accordance with its Catholic identity.
Continuing Responsibilities:
ORR Eligibility Expertise and Funder Communication:
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the current Preferred Communities Guidelines, ORR Policy Letter 16-01: Documentation Requirements for the Refugee Resettlement Program, ORRs Status and Documentation Guide, and any other eligibility guidance released by ORR.
Data Management:
Oversee the PC and VCS components of the Migration and Refugee Information System (MRIS) client database, to include maintaining knowledge of all internal and affiliate procedures and ensuring high quality and efficient data collection.
Respond to and troubleshoot all affiliate questions pertaining to the database, identify opportunities for training and technical assistance on MRIS form completion. Conduct individual or network-wide training as needed.
Data Analysis:
Compile, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative PC and VCS client data using the MRIS database and Excel for inclusion in federal reports, proposals, and the identification of key trends.
Education Level: Undergraduate degree preferred or 4-8 years of experience in a related field in place of an undergraduate degree.
