About the Role
A Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Project managers plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way. This is all done within the confines of a company's goals and vision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of product, capital, infrastructure and improvement projects.
· Create through collaboration, all project documentation and specifications required to ensure effective bids and that all project goals are met upon implementation.
· Perform necessary trade-offs (cost, serviceability, manufacturability) of several options as needed and select recommend solutions to meet business goals.
· Manage and resolve conflicts among internal and external stakeholders impacting the project.
· Coordinate project activities with operations and subcontractors to minimize production or project delays.
· Work closely with quality assurance resources to create test plans and ensure that issues are properly assigned, fixed, and closed.
· Conduct, lead and document meetings with all stakeholders to communicate project status and implement actions as need to meet the project plan.
· Communicate directly with clients, designers, subcontractors and vendors.
· Staying up to date with developments in management and process optimization within projects.
· Inspecting project sites daily to assure compliance with safety, quality, cost and schedule requirement.
Knowledge & Experience
· Bachelor's and Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or Project Management.
· 5-7 years of experience successfully managing industrial projects
· Extensive knowledge and experience with mechanical, electrical and automation systems related to industrial equipment. A background in steel making, metal foundries, or metal machining is preferred.
· Formal project management certification preferred.
· Proficiency with project management software preferred.
· Creating bid documents and conducting bidding of subcontractors and vendors.
· Qualifying bids, negotiating, selecting, and awarding subcontracts and equipment orders.
