Maintenance Associate

Full Time - Days

** Pay rate up to $18.17/hour; based on experience**

United Methodist Communities at Bishop Taylor, a senior affordable housing community located in East Orange, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Associate.

The Maintenance Associate performs repairs to the site, maintains the community (both internally and externally), equipment, and ensures a well-maintained building and grounds.

Requirements for a Maintenance Associate:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of two years experience in carpentry, electrical and plumbing preferred. Documented apprenticeship or vocational schooling in lieu of two years' experience preferred.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of articles less than or equal to 35 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of articles greater than 35 pounds with the assistance of a device or lift.'
• Driver's License.

Responsibilities for a Maintenance Associate:

• Perform building maintenance which includes minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing duties and apartment turnover.
• Completion of work orders as assigned.
• Preventative maintenance of all equipment as assigned.
• Responsible for completion of work orders assigned.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance on all equipment as assigned. Maintaining of logs for preventative maintenance.
• Responsible for overall cleaning and sanitizing of offices, public bathrooms, common areas, kitchen grounds, trash and recycling, apartment turnover and all basic cleaning.
• Responsible for checking Facilities for Work Orders and Preventative Maintenance assigned, closing out when completed and includes any parts used.
