United Fray // Marketing InternshipSummer 2024

At United Fray, we believe that play is a vital part of a well-lived life and a strong community. With that purpose in mind, our mission is to make fun possible by creating and sharing fun things to do. We create adult social sports leagues and special events and share through various channels including social media, email, our media site, text campaigns, Google Ads, external media advertising, and more.

We are offering a winter marketing internship, with the potential to continue through the spring, to college seniors and young professionals interested in pursuing a career in digital marketing and/or communications. We are looking for interns who can spend 20 hours/week working with both our marketing team and graphic designer remotely and potentially in our office in Northeast DC (Brentwood neighborhood) headquarters. You will work mainly with our marketing team on projects across all areas of the business and that touch each of our markets (DC // PHX // JAX). You’ll also spend some time learning from our graphic design and analytics colleagues to gain an understanding of how we highlight our brand across our content delivery and use data to inform best practices and future decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Researching and implementing design and marketing communication best practices
• Reporting on marketing campaigns
• Execute daily posting and updating of social media accounts in alignment with built strategy
• Deliberate planning, strategy, and goal setting for each platform and each brand
• Support marketing campaigns and business objectives by creating copy for social media, email marking, digital advertising, event promotion, and memberships
• Editing and publishing photo galleries for both print and web
• Posting updates to our events calendars with exciting things to do across each market and relevant tags to drive traffic and reach
• Conducting keyword research on what people are searching for to drive effective Google Ads and marketing outreach
• Potential for help with graphic design including; creation of print materials, event and promo signage, etc., as needed for the vents and sales team, assisting in the development on in-house and client ads and web banners and more

Requirements

• Solid understanding of digital marketing best practices
• Experience with social media tools, platforms, and apps
• Email marketing experience preferred
• Graphic design experience (including use of tools such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, InCopy) a plus, though not required
• Ability to navigate Wordpress
• Strong written and communication skills
• Able to consistently travel to our offices in DC (Brentwood neighborhood) or PHX.
• Ability to collaborate with a team
• Open and willing to receive constructive feedback

Compensation and Benefits

• Intern Compensation: Up to $300 per month ($150 upon working a minimum of 20 hours per week/$300 upon working 40 hours per week)
