Collaborating closely with the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships, you'll utilize your research and project management skills to reinvigorate lapsed partnerships and motivate new corporate relationships. The Cause Marketing & Partnerships Specialist is responsible for building, managing, and stewarding a portfolio of lapsed and new corporate partners. This role will activate local cause marketing campaigns as well as manage and expand Feeding America National campaigns with a revenue goal of half a million dollars.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

1. Build and Manage a Portfolio of Cause Marketing Partnerships 

  • In partnership with the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships, establish clear goals and metrics for measuring the success of cause partnerships.
  • Solicit and build relationships with local businesses and organizations by pitching cause marketing opportunities that generate business value for their companies by joining our fight against hunger, and providing a portion of sales from items or services to support the United Food Bank. Follow up with our appreciation to donors by sending thank you notes, presenting certificates, and other means to show our gratitude and make them feel valued for their support. 
  • Provide 360-degree activation support to cause partners by equipping them to engage their customers to help support our neighbors in need, including working with our marketing, volunteer, and food drive teams to build creative promotional assets.
  • Ensure Letter of Agreements are built and signed by cause partners and authorizers at United Food Bank.
  • Support national cause marketing partnerships from Feeding America by attending monthly meetings to ensure we are maximizing each campaign. Reach out to all local campaign leaders to create and grow the relationship. Support the campaigns by promoting the event through social media, sharing with volunteers, staff, Chambers of Commerce, and other avenues of promotion. Building relationships with local markets to increase community involvement in their campaigns.
  • Speak to groups to promote the Cause Marketing events and engage with the community.

2. Reactivate & Research Partnerships

  • Conduct research and lead prospecting efforts to expand the pool of corporate prospects for sponsorship, grant support, and cause marketing.
  • Create and maintain a pipeline of possible corporate partners by identifying key institutional decision-makers, and proactively reaching out to local companies to establish new partnerships.
  • Provide stewardship support for current and lapsed corporate donors.
  • Support the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships for annual fundraising events.
  • Partners with our marketing team to develop and execute website and social media posts related to corporate giving and sponsorship campaigns.
  • Maintain fundraising records in Salesforce CRM database.
  • Maintain donor confidentiality in compliance with United Food Bank policies.
  • Other projects may be assigned by the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships. 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Passion for alleviating hunger.
  • Commitment to customer service.
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred in nonprofit/development/donor relations/event planning. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse. backgrounds, socio-economic levels, and staffing levels.
  • Balance of creative problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Team player mentality with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and work independently on multiple projects.
  • Detail-oriented with adherence to deadlines.
  • Candidates should have computer skills and comfort level with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Canva, Google Suite, and MailChimp (or similar).
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack is preferred.
  • Ability to travel locally; evening and weekend work will periodically be required to fulfill corporate and cause partnership needs.

  • Ability to sit at a computer for 4-8 hours a day doing repetitive motions on a keyboard.
  • Must be available on-call for periodic availability on nights and weekends, as needed for corporate outreach opportunities.
  • Safe driving record, current vehicle insurance, and ability to use personal and company vehicles.
  • Ability to travel locally to meet with corporate partners.

In instances of a federal, state, or locally declared emergency, United Food Bank is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all of its employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.
