Sign-On Bonus $3,000

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Education, the English Learner Teacher provides direct educational services Prepare curriculum and provide Spanish instruction. Work collaboratively with teaching staff to provide meaningful instruction.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff to identify support needs for students, curriculum support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
  • Teaching students about Spanish culture, which may include festivals, traditional food and dress, and social conventions.
  • Prepare curriculum and provide Spanish instruction across grades. Work collaboratively with teacher teams to drive meaningful instruction.
  • Providing conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
  • Teaching writing in Spanish
  • Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
  • Monitoring student's progress by writing up reports and grading assessments.
  • Providing students with feedback for further learning and scheduling intervention sessions with struggling students.
  • Communicating with parents
  • Organizing fun events where students can showcase their Spanish language skills.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education Spanish Teacher (1365). Experience providing reading instruction, highly desired. Licensed or ability to obtain Department of Public Instruction licensing for the State of Wisconsin in Spanish and Early Childhood Education. Fluent in Spanish. Two years’ experience teaching K5 – 8th grade students.
