United Auto Credit Corporation is Hiring a Skip Trace Representative (FT) Near Fort Worth, TX

Job Summary: 
Responsible for providing recovery efforts on charged-off accounts through identification of accounts for repossession, locating assets, assigning accounts out for repossession, reinstatements and deficiency settlements. The Recovery Specialist has frequent contact with borrowers, outside agencies and various other departments within the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Handle all calls or inquiries related to collateral recovery issues with adherence to all FDCPA laws.
  • Properly document all account activity in the computer system.
  • Resolve the account either through repayment of the balance or repossession of the collateral.
  • Make outbound calls to establish contact with borrowers for purposes of negotiating repayment of charged off balance.
  • Initiate repossession of collateral when located if the value of the unit warrants recovery.
  • Provide agents with all the pertinent information to effectively recover the assigned collateral.
  • Initiate contact with customers or agencies to negotiate payments, or to satisfy any deficiency balances.
  • Responsible for referring appropriate accounts to the Legal Department for small claims and garnishment filings upon approval from upper management.
  • Extensive skip tracing to locate borrowers and collateral.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to facilitate change within the organization in a positive manner.
  • Ability to drive departmental compliance with FDCPA requirements.
  • Proven ability to drive performance and results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively teach and instruct subordinate staff in new tasks and procedures.
  • Knowledge of collection policies/procedures including skip tracing and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Must possess strong negotiation, problem solving, and probing skills that are utilized in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work in an accurate, detail-oriented and highly productive manner.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of successful and stable collections experience, preferably auto finance recovery experience.

Language Ability:
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in person, in writing and by telephone.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
Computer Skills:
Experienced in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
