Money for this job , Must Pass a Blueprint Reading Test. This is a permanent full-time job $28 to $30 depending on experience working 5/10's. Working at a construction site and a fabrication shop in Belle Chasse Louisiana. The ideal candidate must pass a hands-on Blueprint Reading test first and then a structural fitting test at a construction site. Structural Fitter / Ship Fitter should have experience in fitting using various metals and materials, as well as a strong understanding of safety protocols and no Twic Card needed. The successful structural fitter / ship fitter construction candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints, interpreting sketches, and using specialized tools to complete projects in a timely manner at the construction site working with a welder. No housing will be provided at this construction site. We are looking for a fitter construction individual who can work independently and is highly motivated to produce quality work as a structural fitter. Ship / Structural Fitters at construction sites will be working with a welder daily. This is not an offshore job, but the items fabricated are going on an offshore rig.
Responsibilities :Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.Fabricate and assemble metal components using fitting techniques.Operate welding equipment in a safe and efficient manner.Perform quality control checks on welds.Maintain any fitting equipment in accordance with safety regulations.Perform preventative maintenance on welding equipment with the welder.
