Currently seeking a Manual Machinist with Shipyard experience to work in New Orleans area. Pay rate: $25-$28 per hour depending on experience. PLUS $250 signing bonus after 30 days of work. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 1 years of verifiable Manual Machinist experience. Responsibilities of the Manual Machinist: Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements Perform complex operations on many kinds of machine tools, including drill presses, lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and precision grinding machines Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers Set up and operate all types of shop machining tools or equipment to manufacture various parts Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision Use various hand and power tools for the completion of job tasks Required Qualifications: Minimum of 1 years of verifiable Manual Machinist experience Hands on test will be given operating a manual lathe Must pass Drug Test Must pass Physical Must be able to work effectively with others Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week Benefits: After waiting period 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Vision insurance Schedule: Day shift Work Location: In person
