Pharmacy Resident Essential Job Duties:
Resident will proficiently provide pharmaceutical care and meet all required ASHP competency areas as outlined below and within the residency contract and manual:
Patient care
Advancing practice and improving patient care
Leadership and management
Teaching, education, and dissemination of knowledge
Provides direct patient care as defined by the criteria for patient specific monitoring.
Participates in development and implementation of clinical services or enhancements to existing services.
Participates in system medication use improvement process.
Provides drug information to health care professionals.
Provides an interface from patient care areas to medication distribution process.
Review and interpret physician medication orders and evaluate medication profiles.
Document pharmaceutical care activities as defined by the department.
Process or check orders in pharmacy computer system.
Maintain a positive and productive working relationship with other members of the department and organization.
Demonstrate proper handling, preparation, and disposal techniques for chemotherapeutic agents, sterile products, and Investigational protocols.
Contact and confer with physician, clinical pharmacist and/or nurse with questions or irregularities regarding medication orders.
Responsible for attending code blue situations as assigned.
Complete all required Pharmacy Residency Activities as outlined in the Pharmacy Practice Manual and Residency Contract.
Performs special projects at request of Administration.
Observes and complies with hospital policies and regulations.
Education, Training & Experience :
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy
Valid Indiana Pharmacist License must be obtained by August 15th. BLS and ACLS certification must be obtained prior to the completion of the orientation period.
