Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County (UGM-TC) has an immediate opening for a part time Women's Ministry Assistant position. This role provides support to various women within the organization.

Position Summary

The Women’s Ministry Assistant Chaplain supports the mission by connecting spiritually primarily with female residents and program attendees. This position will meet with women who are coming from traumatic or transitional backgrounds, helping to provide spiritual support and guidance.

How You Serve:

  • Primary focus is on developing relationships and connecting with female residents and guests.
  • Counsel and connect individually with women at UGM.
  • Implement spiritual programming as outlined by the Chaplain.
  • Assist with various women’s support programs. 
  • Women’s ministry development – identifying needs and coordinating within the mission.
  • Create, proof, and/or disseminate materials and administration documentation for the Chaplaincy.
  • Manage coordination of events calendar under the direction of senior Chaplains.
  • Create and provide consistent and representative reporting of activities and impact.
  • Coordinate with case workers to ensure quality and cohesive care.
  • Create and provide spiritual assessments of residents.
  • Conduct Program exit interviews. 
  • Manage projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in ministry – preferably with women.
  • Able to demonstrate a steady faith walk.
  • Experience in crisis, transitional, women’s shelter, or mental health environments.
  • Able to work in an interdenominational environment.
  • Seminary, Bachelor’s, or Bible college preferred, but equivalent experience considered.
  • Proactive with the ability to take initiative.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint.
  • Flexible and willing to pivot as demands change.

Schedule:

  • Part-time employment
  • 20 hours per week / 4 hours per day 
  • Monday- Friday
