Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant participates in various accounting activities throughout the month and is integral in the month-end close process. The staff accountant is responsible for properly recording financial transactions in accordance with GAAP. An understanding of GAAP accounting principles is required and advanced skill with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel, is preferred. Duties of this role include but are not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities:

• Participates in month end close process including preparing journal entries and preparing account analysis.
• Research variances in monthly P&L trends and provides detailed explanations.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts including prepaids, intercompany, and deferral accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Reviews intercompany transactions for elimination during month end close process.
• Maintains supporting sub schedules and registers as necessary.
• Validates data transferred between operating and accounting systems
• Assists in drafting and maintains process documentation to ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Participates in the development of internal processes to adhere to changing business requirements and evolving business regulations.
• Actively involved with year-end financial audit
• Assists with streamlining processes through automation.
• Performs ad-hoc tasks and duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. 

Experience: 

• 1 to 2 years of accounting experience preferred
• Experience with percentage of completion accounting from the construction or manufacturing experience is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Must be proficient with financial systems and Microsoft Office
• Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to establish and meet goals and objectives.
• Must work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Location:

• This role adheres to a hybrid model based at our office in Pennsauken, NJ.
