UNIFIED BANK is Hiring a Mortgage Loan Processor Near Martins Ferry, OH

 

Position Summary: 

Responsible for creating better lives and futures for the people and communities that we proudly serve! Performs all tasks necessary to take a residential or consumer loan application from the point where the application package is delivered by the loan officer, to the point where the loan is closed. Orders, obtains and reviews reports, appraisals, title work and surveys. Prepares the loan documentation for the software the Bank is using. 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

Department: Loan Servicing 

Reporting Relationships: Reports directly to the Mortgage Underwriter & Processing Supervisor 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Conducts self according to the UNIFIED Way. 

2. Obtains and reviews any information needed to complete the application. In almost all cases the Processor will not have personal contact with the applicant. The position may require personal contact with realtors, and will require personal contact with underwriters, appraisers, title agencies, surveyors, other third-party providers and Freddie Mac (or another investor we may use). 

3. Works with the loan officer to identify the proper program, obtain the proper commitment and monitor the progress of the loan application on an active basis so as to close the highest percentage of loans in the shortest possible amount of time. Satisfactory performance in this respect is closing a loan within 45 working days from the date of application for loans involving approvals. 

4. For secondary market mortgage loans, the Processor will interface with the Loan Officer, Mortgage Loan Originator and/or Investor, to obtain and deliver any requested information or documentation so as to qualify the loan. 

5. Prepares and sends the customer any notifications or other correspondence required by the situation or compliance regulations. This includes sending early disclosures within the three-day compliance regulation after application date. This will include any amended application documents or disclosures, credit score disclosures, flood determination notices, etc. The Processor will prepare all necessary closing documents not prepared by the Title Company, Investor or attorney and deliver them to the closing agent or loan officer. 

6. Organizes the loan file, discard any unnecessary information in the file and will deliver the loan to Loan Administration for boarding.

7. Prepares and mails any additional documents that may need to be handled after the close of the loan. 

8. Prepares tickets, prints checks, and otherwise handles the financial funding of the loan. Also, reviews and approves the various billings associated with any programs including credit reporting fees, funding fees and charges, mortgage underwriting charges, charges for document storage, etc. 

9. Maintains the Mortgage Pending Tickler database, sends any pipeline reports requested. 

10. Maintains the HMDA log for all mortgage loans/applications and prepares declines for all mortgages/applications, and tracks all declines for HMDA reporting, as required. 

11. Provides loan support to the Mortgage Banking Executive and Mortgage Loan Originators. 

12. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Lending Regulations, Deposit Regulations, etc. 13. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place. 

14. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

1. Associates Degree in business/finance or combination of experience and skills 

2. Knowledge of the loan booking process 

3. One - two years of loan processing experience 

4. Familiarity with Finastra, Mortgage Bot/Laser Pro 

5. Experience with Microsoft Office
