Floor technicians maintain and clean floors, conduct inspections, make minor repairs, and ensure equipment functionality. They prioritize safety, document tasks, communicate effectively, and provide excellent customer service.

Job Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks like sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing to maintain terrazzo floors' appearance and integrity.
• Assess terrazzo floor condition and perform restoration and repair, including grinding, honing, polishing, and filling cracks.
• Apply sealants, coatings, and finishes to protect and enhance terrazzo floors, preventing moisture penetration and staining.
• Operate specialized equipment for terrazzo floor care efficiently such as floor buffers, polishers, grinders, and diamond abrasives, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration for optimal performance.
• Prepare terrazzo floors for projects by assessing surface conditions, conducting repairs, and implementing appropriate preparation techniques like cleaning, grinding, and leveling.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and client expectations. Address any deficiencies or issues promptly and effectively.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing terrazzo floor care activities. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize hazards and risks.
• Provide professional guidance to clients on terrazzo floor maintenance practices, products, and services.
• Select appropriate brushes, pads, and chemicals for equipment. Maintain equipment for effective operation. Keep storage areas neat, clean, and well-stocked.
• Operate industrial floor care equipment as assigned and according to schedule for cleaning of a large area of floor surface.
• Perform general housekeeping duties, including trash collection and maintaining clear, safe hallways. Quickly address hallway obstructions as needed.
• Physical ability to perform work involving walking, standing, stooping, operating cleaning equipment, and lifting of materials and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

• Require a minimum of 4-5 years of proven experience in terrazzo floor care, including expertise in maintenance, restoration, and repair techniques.
• Must provide three employment references who can attest to terrazzo experience.
• Proficiency in operating specialized equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, grinders, and diamond abrasives.
• In-depth knowledge of terrazzo floor materials, treatments, and finishes.
• Must be able to work THIRD SHIFT hours (10 pm - 6:30 am) including weekends
• Successfully pass pre-employment background check and meet E-Verify requirements.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
