Underdog BBQ is Hiring a Prep Cook Near Erie, PA

As a Prep Cook at our Underdog BBQ, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the kitchen by preparing ingredients, following recipes, and assisting with various food preparation tasks. Your attention to detail and dedication to quality will contribute to the overall success of our crew.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients according to recipes and portion control guidelines.
  2. Assist with the preparation of menu items, including sauces, marinades, dressings, and other components, following established recipes and procedures.
  3. Properly store and label prepared ingredients to maintain freshness and prevent cross-contamination.
  4. Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment for the day's service.
  5. Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, rotating perishable items, and notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  6. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
  7. Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures at all times, including temperature control, storage guidelines, and personal hygiene practices.
  8. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks during busy periods.
  9. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality of products.
  10. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards, including dress code and attendance requirements.
  11. Assist with other kitchen duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience as a prep cook or kitchen assistant preferred, but not required.
  2. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
  3. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  7. Understanding of food safety and sanitation principles.
  8. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
  9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
