Summary:

The Executive Director of NC Health’s Federally Qualified Health Center will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the FQHC to ensure successful clinical and financial results. This leader will also oversee multiple simultaneous initiatives and ensure consistency and alignment with UNC Health's overall strategy and goals, including growth opportunities. This position will be employed by UNCH and report up through UNCPN’s dyad leadership structure, but will have accountability to the FQHC Board.


Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the VP of Operations, they will establish direction and strategy for all areas of responsibility to optimally support the FQHC’s strategic priorities as set by the FQHC Board. Ensures the development, monitoring and sustainability of the infrastructure required to achieve cost effective, high quality, state-of-the-art, efficient service delivery systems across functional departments, including oversight of products, services, technology, environmental, safety, supplies, logistics and other resources within a defined scope of accountability. Assures ongoing implementation of service excellence strategies that distinguish the FQHC and the UNC Physicians Network’s performance in the marketplace and advance the organization’s position as provider and employer of choice. Participates in the development and recommendation of the capital budget for the FQHC clinics.
  • The position will act as a catalyst for organizational change across the UNC Physicians Network and as a key liaison between senior leadership and other functional areas of the UNCPN. The position will be responsible, along with other senior leaders, for creating that culture of change and improvement and managing numerous initiatives simultaneously.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
Professional Experience Requirements:
  • Ten (10) years of related experience or related functionality and seven (7) years of management experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
  • Consistent and successful track record of performance in all areas of responsibility, coupled with strong credibility and reputation for delivering desired results.
  • Broad knowledge and thorough understanding of the trends and forces shaping the healthcare delivery system and the provision of care, financing of treatment, and other emerging issues in healthcare management; engaged in key forums (UHC, AAMC, UHC, Advisory Board, etc) to deepen expertise and bring best practices to the team.
  • A track record of success in the selection, motivation, development, evaluation, recognition, and retention of competent and caring personnel.
  • A champion of diversity, who can work effectively in an environment where different beliefs and ideas are appreciated, and proactively seeks leaders who represent a diverse community.
  • An organized thinker and clear communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
