UnboundEd is Hiring a Senior Vice President of Development Near Los Angeles, CA

ABOUT UNBOUNDED
UnboundEd recently joined two other professional learning organizations, Pivot Learning and CORE Learning. Together as one entity, we are now the nation's largest equity-focused professional learning organization. We provide evidence-based, comprehensive instructional and curriculum support to educators and school system leaders in over 40 states nationwide.
UnboundEd empowers educators to transform teaching and learning. We work with classroom teachers, school leaders and district executives to ensure engaging, affirming and meaningful grade-level instruction, so that we eliminate the predictability of student outcomes by race and socioeconomic status. We focus on the needs of students of color and those who have historically been at the margins because when we do that, all students benefit.
We seek a visionary and results-driven Senior Vice President of Development to lead our product strategy and drive innovation across our portfolio of EdTech solutions. As a key executive team member, the Senior Vice President of Development will be responsible for defining our products and services' vision, design, architecture, and delivery strategy. The incumbent will define the product roadmap, oversee the product lifecycle, and drive the successful launch of new products and features. The ideal candidate will have the ability to influence at every level, imparting their technical knowledge and skills in a manner that drives organizational understanding and alignment. This position will report to the Chief Product Officer.

- Champions a user-centric approach, collecting and leveraging customer insights and feedback to inform product decisions.
- Drive innovation and thought leadership by staying abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in EdTech.
Product development and delivery:
- Establishes a clear architectural framework that provides the needed runway for product and feature enhancements and delivery.
- Facilitates the creation and prioritization of a strong product backlog, and ensures the delivery of working software to end users through rigorous development and QA.
- Leverages a deep understanding of product management methodologies, agile development processes, and software development lifecycles to deliver high-quality, desirable products to market.
- Foster strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and technology providers to leverage synergies and maximize opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
Leadership and Management:
- Leads and mentors a team of engineers, quality assurance experts, product managers, agile practitioners, and UX teams comprised of user researchers, designers, and localization experts.
- Drives cross-functional collaboration within the product team and across the wider organization
- Fosters a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence within the product development team, providing mentorship and guidance to team members.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product performance, track progress, and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Master's degree (preference for degrees in Education, Computer Science, or Business)
- 15 years of experience in product roles within the EdTech industry. Proven track record of driving innovation and growth within a multi-product portfolio, and successfully delivering new products to market.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals. Proven track record of leading high-performing development teams, especially in the EdTech space.
- Demonstrated understanding of product management methodologies, agile development processes, and product lifecycle management (preference for candidates with published thought leadership)
- Deep technical expertise in software development methodologies, architecture, and technologies, including web and mobile applications, cloud computing, and data analytics.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights and customer needs into actionable product strategies and roadmaps.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results in a rapidly evolving industry.
