We are seeking a passionate and creative Product Designer to join an electronics company based in Irvine CA. This role involves driving product designs from initial concept through to manufacturing, ensuring that every product meets our high standards of functionality, user experience, and aesthetics. As a Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our product offerings, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to market.

Temp to Hire

Full time In-Office

M - F, 9 AM - 5:30 PM

Pay: $80k - 100k based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Leadership: Drive the product design process from ideation to manufacturing, including creating initial concepts, developing product interfaces, and refining designs based on collaborative input.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work alongside Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, and Senior Management to incorporate diverse insights into design decisions and product refinements.
• Project Management: Efficiently track, organize, and prioritize product design assignments. Report on project status to stakeholders.
• Market and Material Research: Stay ahead of design trends, new manufacturing methods, and consumer needs. Apply insights to inform design direction and innovation.
• Visualization: Produce detailed product renderings and design specifications for internal review and facilitate execution by the Product Development team.
• Prototyping: Develop prototypes and design renderings for customer presentations, showcasing product concepts and features.
• Travel: Be willing to travel internationally (10-20%) for design inspiration, manufacturing oversight, and customer presentations.
• Professional Development: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance design skills and knowledge.
• Presentation Leadership: Lead product concept presentations, effectively communicating design visions and decisions.
• Additional Responsibilities: Take on special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications:

• Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or Product Design.
• Design Skills: Exceptional sketching and visualization capabilities.
• Industry Preference: Experience in Consumer Electronics strongly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in 3-D modeling (Solidworks, Pro-E, Rhino, Alias), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and rendering software (Keyshot or similar).
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials. Experience with overseas factories is a plus.
