TheTai lab in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University ofIllinois at Chicago is seeking highly energetic and organized applicants for afull-time Research Scientist position. This role will involve managing a colonyand conducting in vitro experiments. Our research focus is understanding howblood-brain barrier dysfunction contributes to Alzheimer’s disease as atherapeutic target, and experimental procedures include brain endothelial cellisolation, in vitro drug screening and other biochemical analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
Writing manuscriptsand giving presentations of the data.
Writing competitivegrant applications with the assistance of the PI.
Working with andtraining graduate and undergraduate students and the lab.
Managea large mouse colony including colony maintenance and genotyping.
Isolatebrain endothelial cells from mice
Conducta high-content screening campaign.
Validatecompound activity in vitro and in vivo
