Position Summary The Extra Help Financial Analyst/Planner Specialist will play a crucial role in the financial planning and analysis team, contributing to the overall financial health and strategic planning of the college. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure accurate budgeting and financial forecasting. In addition to financial planning, the Extra Help Financial Analyst/Planner Specialist will be responsible for gathering, analyzing and reporting on non-finance related data such as space utilization, enrollment trends, and other data essential to the operation of the college Duties & Responsibilities
Analyze tuition allocation from the campus budget office and develop department and unit tuition allocations based on campus budget allocation. Develop annual budget projections for departments and units in the college.
Conduct variance analysis to assess budget performance against actual expenditures for departments and units within the college. Monitor spending of department and units in the college. Provide insightful analysis to support decision-making processes. Prepare financial reports for dean’s office and departments/units in the college.
Generate accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders. Ensure compliance with university reporting requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvement with in the budgeting and financial analysis functions. Implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of budget-related practices.
Conduct ad hoc analysis as requested. Assist in special projects related to planning and analysis.
Provide needed administrative support to ensure office of the dean is in compliance with segregation of duties policies.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
