Position Summary
The Patient Advocate investigates, resolves, documents and reports organization-specific patient, family, visitor and referral source compliments, concerns and grievances to leadership and staff. The Patient Advocate develops, implements and participates in customer service and patient relations initiatives related to the facility’s mission and goals. The Patient Advocate meets with the patient or representative who registers a complaint or grievance in a timely manner to review the complaint or grievance and obtain needed information. The complaint or grievance is logged and tracked. A written response or resolution letter is provided to or sent to the patient or representative and includes the name(s) of the hospital contact person, the steps taken on behalf of the patient to investigate the complaint or grievance, the results of the grievance process and the date on completion.
