POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the assisting the CNO, the Director of Education, HR and other department heads in the development and implementation of the Orientation, onboarding and staff development strategies.
Additional duties as assigned by CRC Director, which may include assessments and review/approval of referred clinical documentation. Other duties will be assigned by the CNO.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
· Three years of nursing experience in clinical setting required.
· Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles, Psychiatric Nursing.
· Microsoft office competency
· CPR certification
Knowledge and Skills:
· Assists in the creation of education tools and training based upon identified needs of the hospital.
· Assesses content of clinical and non-clinical in-service programs and makes revisions based on performance improvement data, accrediting agency standards, and Risk Management findings.
· Create, modifies, and delivers clinical and non-clinical training programs resulting from needs assessments.
· Makes appropriate arrangements to conduct in-service programs such as classroom space, speakers, and training materials.
· Maintains correspondence and communication for in-service programs.
· Maintain documentation of educational training records, resources, and current licenses.
· Utilizes time efficiently in performing duties.
· Initiates work independently without request by supervisor.
· Participates in New Employee Orientation, managing precepting schedules, assists managers with 30,60,90-day staff meetings.
· Assists the Director of Education in maintaining education calendar for Handle With Care, Verbal De-Escalation training, CPR certification.
· Assists with psychiatric nurse residency training.
· Assist Infection Preventionist to maintain Infection Prevention plan for hospital.
· Trains nursing staff in EHR documentation
· Assists with precepting new nurses when needed.
· Demonstrates standards of professional behavior aligned with the mission, strategy, and values of Friends Hospital.
· May work as floor RN or house supervisor duties as assigned.
· Promote a culture of inclusivity regardless of racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, or sociological backgrounds.
· Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation And Experience:
· BSN from an accredited school of nursing required.
· MSN from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
Licensure & Certification:
ANCC psych mental health certificate preferred.
· CPR certification
· HWC Certification
