Established in 1986, Anchor Hospital specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for teens, adults and seniors. Our mental health facility in Atlanta, Georgia is located on a secluded, 55-acre campus, less than three miles from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and is accredited by the Joint Commission.
The Milieu Specialist serves as a specialist in the milieu for de-escalation and responds to patient-facing inquiries within Anchor Behavioral Health. They serve as preceptors and role models to care providers in the milieu, and they work to uphold client rights through support, advocacy, and resolution strategies. Further, this individual works to maintain, develop and strengthen the patient-care provider relationship through the development, coordination, and support of the overall objectives of Anchor’s mission and vision, along with the quality improvement program and policies.
Responsibilities include: ensuring program schedules are followed, provide role modeling on managing patients with diagnosis of psychosis/aggression, training employees and implementing changes to Milieu

QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field preferred. |
Prefer experience in a psychiatric hospital setting as a Mental Health Aide working with children, adolescents, geriatric and/or adults. |
Current CPR Certification required. Current Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation certification. |
Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Perform ADL’s with patients. |
Work is physically and mentally demanding. Extensive walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs. Must be able to lift or move over fifty (50) pounds. |
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the DON, ADON, RN Manager, RN Supervisors, Charge RN and/or CEO. |
